As the year winds down and the festive season approaches, I find myself looking back on 2025, a year of change, connection, challenge and clarity.
At IAS, we speak often about life cycles – the stages our clients move through as they grow, plan, pivot and retire with purpose. This year reminded me how closely our own professional and personal lives mirror those very cycles.
Whether it’s navigating aged care for a loved one, rebuilding after setbacks, or celebrating a new milestone, we live through the same ups and downs our clients face. That shared experience is what shapes the way we advise, lead, and support.
Family first, always
We kicked off the year by blending households. Matt, the kids and I all moved in together. It was a big change, and one that reminded me: transitions work best when managed with patience and grace.
Time to breathe
In February, I made a conscious effort to find more balance. Doing a “Reset Retreat” gave me time to reflect, recharge and set a clearer path forward, while committing to weekly calm yoga has become my yin to the workday yang.
Milestones and memories
From celebrating Matt’s son Sami’s 18th and his school graduation, to my sister turning 50, to a houseboat weekend and Spring Racing Carnival moments, this year reminded me to celebrate, even amidst the chaos.
Miles’ broken wrist at the snow was a very real example of how life doesn’t always follow the plan, something many of our clients know too well and we help them to be prepared for.
A global perspective
Travelling to Miami for my first Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) conference was a professional high. But the most powerful moments came from reconnecting with friends and mentors who inspired me to think bigger and lead with impact.
Resilience from the Philippines
A special reflection this year goes to our incredible IAS team members in the Philippines.
In November, two typhoons struck Cebu; one of our valued team members lost his home and was hospitalised. Others endured the stress of ongoing earthquakes and aftershocks.
Despite these challenges, their resilience, work ethic and unwavering commitment to our clients has been nothing short of inspiring. We are so grateful to have them as part of our extended IAS family.
We were also so pleased to welcome Dimple and Fhevy to Sydney this year to meet the team in full and to see how and where we work. It was a fabulous connection time for us all.
Business wins & what’s new at IAS
This year saw the completion of our website and brand refresh, including a clearer Life Cycle model to help clients understand the stages of financial decision-making.
We continued developing our new Client Portal, which is due to roll out in early 2026, and is designed to give our financial planning clients even more access, clarity and confidence in their journey.
From industry conferences (Steadfast, AOIFP, Vanguard, NIBA and more) to exhibiting at trade shows in November or speaking at the Level Up Lounge, we’ve kept learning, evolving, and showing up, so we can better serve you.
A heartfelt thank you
